I just did a 6:24 in Forza. Feeling pretty good right now! If it is in GT5, then that stupid fast concept car does not count.

Fastest recorded time time that counted or fastest I've been around it in? Massive difference.
And if you have gt5 you should add me

Just the fastest time, in whatever car, whenever.. Unless it is the Red Bull aerodynamic concept thing in GT5, that is way to fast.
Also, I only have Forza 4, no PS3 for me.

I ran a 6:40 or 6:50-some in a Radical SR8 on Forza 4 (don't remember exactly, but it was a top 750 time), but people have pulled in the 6:20's or so running hugely tuned Nobles and Moslers in the R2 class, so i dunno.

Some people have got it below the 6 minute mark. Although they all seem to have used the Sauber C9. A car I don't have.

Fuck that's a group C car, no wonder they've gotten it that low haha. This is actually interesting because we could compare lap times over Forza and GT5 since the C9's in both. However, I'm at the library putting off writing a history paper due tomorrow, so that's not going to happen anytime soon.

I only have Fourza so:
My fastest B class lap, with a standing start was a 9:09, with a 2005 NSX.
I have used the Sierra RS500 "Cosseth" to death on the 'ring, though. managed to get a 252hp example around in 9:12-9:13 consistently with a standing start!
since I like to stand on the brakes a lot, I tune them down to about 65-70% effectiveness, so they are just about to lock up with ABS off. seems to shave about 1-3 seconds off my times in the Ford

Not mine, but a 4:59 lap in the Ferrari F2007

I think I did about 5:45 in an F1 car. I could go faster now but I wasn't the best driver then.

Just pulled a 6:21 in GT5 in the race modified C6 Vette. Was being pretty cautious, but I was curious what a baseline lap would be. Thanks to this post I now know where to work from!

I actually don't like racing on the ring. Maybe it is because I only have the controller but I find it super not enjoyable. Spa on the other hand is a blast, Tsukuba times I've gotten down to 0:51.235 in a Viper that I have no idea how I actually got a clean lap out of at the speed it was going.

I like the ring, wheel or not. There is so much to memorize that sometimes you just kindof have to guess the corner coming up, and when in doubt. . . flat out. And the lenght makes it interesting more than a few times. I also like the Japanese mountain road in Forza 4 as well for these reasons.

I have never "driven" an F1 car, I did this in a 2003 Speed 8. I can't wait to feel the speed of F1. Nothing shall prepare me!

Oh yeah, the corner you think you can take in 3rd ends up causing you to understeer into a wall.

What are the rules? TCS, ABS, ASM?
I'll try when I get home. What car did you use?

I did it in the Speed 8. And no rules, just go crazy. I had everything off because it is more fun that way.

If I'm totally honest, I usually keep ABS on, and if I'm online, sometimes TCS in a high horsepower car. I like to think its because I've had the game for a week, but hey, I'll give it a try.

When I started I also had everything. In a few months, you will start turning them off. It is the best way to learn driving in Forza or GT5!

About 8'50" in the GC/GR WRX STIs. I got the Yellow Bird round in about 10 minutes, but it was hard going, even doing 20 mph slower than the Subarus. Noticeable that GT4 is a bit funner than GT5, or maybe I have the sensitivity turned up.

Got home and infuriated my self trying to get a solid lap. Also, apparently there is no way to export your replays from GT5, so I recorded with my shitty old Coolpix. Here's the best I got. 5:57. I did get a bullshit penalty around 3:48 mark which invalidated my lap, but I'm keeping it. Car is stock power and downforce levels, no aids except ABS at 1, different gearing and I softened the suspension.
I really need to get a new potato.

Damn that is fast. I don't have any group C racecars, which I feel like are ridiculous fast. People in Forza are doing 5:40s with the Sauber C9.
